Crowdlending in Switzerland an insignificant trend? - The comparison with Europe
Is Crowdlending an attractive but exotic niche product? In Switzerland Crowdlending or peer-2-peer lending may still be a niche product, but just looking at our neighbors and the rest of Europe shows a different picture.
But what about the situation in our neighboring European countries?
The volume of transactions in the Crowdlending segment for the year 2017 will, according to extrapolation, already amount to around 6.2 billion euros in more than 230,000 campaigns. This corresponds to an average funding per campaign in 2017 at around € 27,000. This roughly corresponds to the current Swiss average for consumer credit. In comparison, only CHF 55 million was financed in Switzerland in 2016 (source: Crowdfunding Monitor, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences).
According to forecasts, a transaction volume of more than 29 billion will be achieved in more than 1.2 million campaigns in 2021 (Source: Statista).
The fact that this growth is continuing in Switzerland, not least because of its increasing popularity, seems undisputed. The whole industry still has a lot of room for improvement: in Switzerland, as the total volume  in private and leasing loans is CHF 14 billion, around CHF 290 billion in business loans. So from Crowd4Cash we believe that Crowdlending is much more than an insignificant trend. We look forward to the future development with you!
