Exciting insights into the Swiss Crowdlending market with the Crowdlending Survey 2018
The new Crowdlending Survey 2018 was created by the University Lucerne with the consulting firm PwC. We at Crowd4Cash have actively supported this study as part of the Swiss Crowdlending universe.
Continued strong increase in volume
In 2017, the Swiss Crowdlending market increased by 240% compared to 2016, to a total of CHF 187 million. The main growth driver here was the SME sector, which now accounts for 56% of the overall market. But consumer credit and mortgage markets have also risen sharply. Despite lower interest rates than traditional providers, only 1.2% of all new consumer credit is crowd-financed in Crowdlending. For SME loans and mortgages, this share is still significantly lower.
Increasingly institutional investors
In the mature foreign markets, institutional investors make up a large part of the Crowdlending financing. These institutional investors will, in our view, be the main growth driver in the future. Crowd4Cash has developed an innovative product specifically for this investor group. We combine an attractive risk return in Swiss francs with regular interest payments.
Market Lending Association founded (SMLA)
The aim of the SMLA is to increase transparency in the Swiss market and thereby accelerate the growth of the market. In addition, a minimum quality among the members should be achieved. The members are both the most Swiss platforms, as well as the University of Lucerne, which, among other things, the coordination takes over. We at Crowd4Cash are proud to be a founding member of the SMLA.
Partnerships
The young crowdfunding companies are mainly seeking partnerships with banks, for example as part of a whitelabelling solution. Other strategic partnerships or cooperation between Crowdlending platforms are also at the center of attention. Crowd4Cash is also actively working with many partners and intends to expand these in the future.
We look forward to an exciting future in the Swiss Crowdlending market.
